Webinar Report on the Impact of Roe vs. Wade, 1973 Ruling Overturn on access to comprehensive SRHR Services among the marginalized communities in Uganda
The Alliance of Women Advocating for change conducted grassroot female sex worker (FSWs) leaders’, members’ and stakeholders’ webinar (with 180 participants) to share on the impact of the RoeVs.Wade ruling overturn on access to comprehensive SRHR services among the minoritized grassroot communities such as female sex workers including those with multiple and overlapping social vulnerabilities in Uganda. This engagement enabled the FSW leaders to be in the-know of the different legal regims, international and local applicable laws, policy and an intersectional feminist approach on addressing the continuous growing opposition and ultra anti-rights movements’ influence on the contentious comprehensive SRHR issues. This underscored the need to give a platform to grassroot communities to identify the emerging issues on access to safe abortion and holistic and integrated SRHR services, and SRHR Policies that we can take advantage of in amplifying our community voices in promoting access to SRH services that are responsive to the unique needs of the minoritized women including those with compounding and intersecting vulnerabilities.
